Sosai Mas Oyama's 17th Memorial Service |
|
April 24, 2011
Time certainly does fly by quickly. April 26th marked the 17th
anniversary of Sosai's passing.
Two days prior to that, a commemoration ceremony to mark the
17th anniversary was held at Honbu.
As part of the commemoration we also took the opportunity to
conduct a prayer for the revival of the Tohoku Region and its
victims of the earthquake and tsunami on March 11.
We were honored to welcome a number of guests from past and
present Kyokushin as well as people like Katsuaki Sato (founder of
Sato-Juku), Takashi Azuma (founder of Daido-juku).
It was wonderful to see some many people come together to
reminisce and honor Sosai. We are sure Sosai was happy to see
some many familiar faces at Honbu.
Thank you deeply to everyone that attended.

Kata & Kumite(kids, juniors, youth, seniors)
April 9-10, 2011
IKO Sosai Romania Branch is one of the newest organizations within
IKO Sosai and comprises traditional kyokushinkai practitioners.
We train based on Sosai’s philosophies, teachings and legacy.
The concept of family is the cornerstone of the Romanian
organization. Although we are still in our infancy, we strive to
become stronger and based on the principles of transparency, truth
and partnership, aim to become one of the strongest organizations
in the world. We follow the mission of Honbu--to develop human
character and contribute to society--and are honored to have many
members who show a deep understanding of this mission. We are
able to place a strong emphasis on "building strong character, not
strong fighters" thanks to the great and effective training system
created by Sosai. Through this system we are able to push
ourselves to our limits.
In a world of rapid change and globalization that is filled with risk and
vulnerability, the traditional approach we have received through
Sosai's legacy gives us the right tools to make society a better
place. Sosai taught us to invest in people, especially in kids -
our common future. Continuing our traditional mission, the 4th IKO
Sosai Romania National Championship was held in Sibiu City,
between 9-10 of April 2011, with a participation of 114 traditional
kyokushinkai practitioners from 14 dojos. Below is a list of the dojo
operators and instructors and results of the participants that took
part in the tournament. Osu.

Waterfall Training at Mitsumine 2011 |
|
On January 3rd, 2011,we held our annual New Year's training at
Mt. Mitsumine.
Mt. Mitsumine, which is next to Mt. Kiyosumi, is of course
famous as the place where Sosai did his solitaire mountain training.
It was great to train under the waterfalls and purify ourselves
physically and mentally for a fresh start to the year.
We plan to go again at the beginning of next year,
so if anyone from overseas can make it, please join us!!
